Manufacturing systems design and simulation

Objective



The proposal aims at supporting the establishment of a new department at the University of Patras, named Industrial Manufacturing. The applicant will assist these activities with his theoretical knowledge and practical experience in manufacturing systems design and simulation.
Strong links to industry are considered essential for this new department. They will direct research activities and provide real world cases for research and teaching. The applicant will seek to establish such links by offering his expertise as a service to local enterprises.
The applicant will:
- support the definition of curricula - establish links to industry and to other academic institutions active in related fields - give lectures on manufacturing systems design and simulation - assist in the supervision of students and PhD students.
MARION will produce the following results:
- recommendations for curricula - a specification of a demonstration centre - - implemented manufacturing systems design and simulation software in this demonstration centre - lecture notes and training material for manufacturing system design and simulation.
