Higgs boson search at lep200

Objective

I will continue to collaborate with the ALEPH experiment at London Imperial College. My first priority is to complete my work on exclusive b baryon decays and produce a paper. Besides, I will develope a b-tagging method based on the new microvertex detector, installed in ALEPH in the end of 1995. The intent of this work is the Search of the Higgs boson, through the decay in two b quarks (that is the statistically favoured decay mode), using the data that will be collected during 1996 in ALEPH running at energies above the Z resonance. The evidence for this particle would be of great interest for Particle Physics because the Higgs boson is predicted by the Standard Model Theory. I will also contribute to the microvertex exploitation for the 1996 run period.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
