Research object and content
It proposes to use numerical models and to determine the role of time dependant eddies in the antarctic circumpolar current by consideration of the vorticity budget.
Training content (objective, benefit and expected impact )
It will use large scale ocean general circulation models for the diagnostic studies; advanced training in dynamical oceanography will be provided, and will provide a high quality environment for research in antarctic ocean modelling.The benefit will be advanced training in the fast developing area of ocean modelling wich will provide europeans with the expertise to lead the research field.
