Superintense laser pulse-solid interaction

Objectif

The aim is to give a coherent and self-consistent picture of the interaction of superintense laser beams with matter of solid density. On massively parallel supercomputers (Darmstadt, Helsinki) * PIC & the basis of this purely scientific research
Fokker-Planck codes (Imperial College, Helsinki) * 3D Schrodinger & Dirac accompanying studies will investigate various possibilities of equations (Aachen, Darmstadt) * Dense Plasmas and transport (Rostock, applications in the field of
Greifswald, Aachen, Pisa) * Waves in plasmas (St. Andrews, Pisa, Aachen, material processing (hardening, welding, drilling, etching). Helsinki) * Advanced experimental techniques & diagnostics (Jena). (2) Multiple opportunity will be given them to present their ideas, In detail, the following phenomena and effects are studied:
results, critiques, on group meetings, network meetings & workgroups, and 1. The plasma formation process, i.e. field ionisation and ionisation by collisions; electron energy distribution just after ionisation had international conferences.
(3) Organized visits to Fraunhofer-Inst. fur Lasertechnik, DLR Stuttgart, 2. Collisional heating and runaway effect, transition to collective behaviour.
Jenoptik and CONTEC GmbH, Darmstadt, on occasion of the contact seminars on material processing.
3. Subharmonic and harmonic generation by fast ionisation and collisions, and by collective plasma response.
(4) Opportunity is given to work in several countries during the candidate's training period. Total training volume is 220 man-months 4. Collective plasma response in the universal, collisionless regime, studied by relativistic Vlasov and Fokker-Planck codes, and PIC simulations.
5. Energy transport by electronic and radiative heat conduction; self-generated dc magnetic fields and flux limitation.
6. Fast ignitor: Propagation of superintense electromagnetic fields in overdense plasmas, investigated by relativistic Vlasov simulation. occured.
