Exploitable results
PROWEPTEL is a novel system for weather presentation on television based on:
- a flexible selection weather phenomena ;
- air-pollution information;
- state-of-the-art visualisation techniques;
- forecast areas varying from regional to continental.
The output of the system has TV-broadcast quality and the system can be incorporated in a production and time-constraint environment.
PROWEPTEL contains a very fast working graphical system, which is very user-friendly, due to the close co-operation in development between technicians and presenters. It is designed to work within a three-D virtual environment, which is not in use right now, but the current system, is already capable of handling virtual scenery. ProWEPTEL is in use already more than a year by the NOS, a Dutch public broadcast company.
