Intelligent data extraction

Objective

The objective of INDEX is to make the interactive analysis of the results of engineering simulations performed on HPCN platforms practicable.

The very success of HPCN methods in reducing engineering design times and costs has led to a substantial increase in dataset size and number, and the difficulty and cost of analysing and interpreting this data which (i) selectively reduces the proportion of the data returned for analysis by an intelligent and automatic preselection, (ii) automatically and transparently exercise data compression methods, and (iii) present compact alternative representations of features in vector and scalar fields. The end product of INDEX is the INDEX toolset, a portable modular software library, which will provide an integrated software solution to the problem of increased dataset size from engineering simulation. The toolset will be used by the industrial partners British Aerospace, Daimler-Benz and Osservatorio Geofisico Sperimentale within their existing design processes, and exploited externally by the partners through commercial sales of the toolset.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
