A european market place to link technology ventures and equity funding

Objective

To analyse the feasibility of a European initiative linking well-structured research-based business opportunities consisting as a promising new technology, a team, a business model and the needs for private funds - with the European investor community (banks, VC, business angels, industrial enterprises).

Expected achievements are:
- to provide an in-depth understanding of existing gaps in the evolution of research-based business opportunities from deal flow generation to investment, with a focus on technologies funded under Growth;
- to identify the key process steps of a European market place of research-based business opportunities;
- to propose concerted actions, with a clear European Added Value, which enhance the benefits of such European market place while taking account of the fragmented European economy and entrepreneurial culture;
- to provide the European Commission with a set of recommendations regarding implementation of such concept within the 6th Framework Program.
