Advanced corrosion monitoring technologies for safety critical structures : dissemination of information

Objective

Increasing environmental awareness places high demands on the integrity of industrial plants. Many safety critical structures in these plants are subject to degradation mechanisms, with corrosion being one of the most important. Regular structural inspection is used for assuring safe operation. In many cases inspection with classic techniques requires taking the structure out of service and dismantling it. A number of non intrusive corrosion monitoring technologies have recently been developed which can be used as a substitution for classic techniques, but their widespread use has been prevented by insufficient knowledge about the techniques among the inspection community. This project aims at combining knowledge about advanced corrosion monitoring and disseminating it on a large scale throughout the inspection community.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
