Optimisation of industrial multiphase mixing (OPTIMUM)

Objective

The main aims of the OPTIMUM project are the improvement of European process industries competitiveness by shortening process development time, enhancement of product quality, waste reduction and usage of existing plants up to full capacity. To meet these aims for widely used agitated multi-phase processes, the lack of insight into the hydrodynamic phenomena involved and their coupling with chemistry and heat & mass transfer must be overcome. Thus, an experience based mixer-selection tool and two numerical approaches for multi-phase flow calculations shall be developed to a new design strategy by bringing together European industrial and scientific knowledge. The strategy will be checked and applied to relevant industrial mass production processes.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
