Advanced machining systems for environmentally friendly manufacturing (ECOSYSTEMS)

Objective

The development of pollution-prevention initiatives in the government sector and heightened consumer focus on 'green' (i.e. environmentally conscious) products has placed increased pressure on industry to evaluate the ultimate disposability their products and their manufacturing waste streams. Ever more attention is turning to such issues as machine energy efficiency and process waste. The main objectives is to develop new machine concepts, components, systems equipment and tools aimed at improving environmental consciousness of flexible machining transfer lines for medium/large-batch production of mechanical components considering also difficult to cut materials. The final demonstrator will be a high speed transfer line consisting of two critical machining units and a high speed workpiece transport system.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
