Cost efficient and ecological sustainable light weight sheet metal forming by employing an intelligent pulsating blankholder technology

Objective

The project is centred around the development of a novel, fully process controlled, pulsating blank holder technology which will enable the formation process for thin high-tensile steel or aluminium alloy blanks, which results in a substantial weight reduction in automotive and other light weight products and thus leads to a significant reduction of raw material, energy consumption and resulting emissions in the whole production cycle. Furthermore, a reduction of required ram power, savings by using more inexpensive sheet metal with unchanged geometry of the draw parts, drawing of pre-painted blanks without loosing the shining of the formed blanks, increasing of the drawing ratio, savings by reducing or cancelling of lubricants is leading to enormous cost savings in this process und thus improving the competitiveness of relevant European industries.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
