Objective
In electricity generation, online monitoring of critical components is key to increases, uninterrupted operation, can bring about big reductions in operating costs, and is vital to the implementation of modern asset management principles. Resulting energy costs reductions in Europe would amount to multi-million Euro savings, with similar potential within the petrochemical and other industries. This proposal 's objective is to develop/demonstrate a multi-channel. passive (no batteries or internal power), remote (radio interrogated), 600oC operating monitoring system. The principle has been proven as a development prototype 1 channel strain monitor. This project is to develop and validate it as a fully operation multi-channel system (strain and/or temperature) suitable for commercialisation.
