Objective
This project aims to enhance halogen free fire retardant (FR) properties for textile materials developing intumescents halogen free FR to face evolution of textile European fire regulations. It will provide a serious advance finalising solutions for the European industry and business connected with the public where fire safety is needed by end-users. New technical FR formulations and implementation engineering will be studied at laboratory and pilot scale to treat textile fabrics "in mass" during processing and "outside" by back coating with binder resins. Results will be validated by industrial trials. These developments will be transferred to non-fibrous materials in other sector area. The choice of product and engineering process will be designed to maintain the development in Europe of new FR textile materials for maximum safety.
