Hearing-aids with rechargeable power supply

Objective

Within the project a new technology for rechargeable batteries based on the Lithium-Ion-polymer approach will be developed. The technology will address to the specific needs in application to medical devices. This includes e.g. the option of individual shaping of batteries within certain limits. The efficiency of the new battery technology will be proven by introducing prototype batteries into prototype hearing-aids.

The use of rechargeable batteries in hearing-aids will help to reduce running costs, avoid large amounts of waste primary button cells and improve the quality of life for the patients. Moreover the development of the battery technology will strengthen the currently weak European position in a key technology: advanced rechargeable batteries. These batteries are not restricted to the use in hearing-aids but in all kinds of medical devices and other application especially with customer specific design.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
