Objective
AHEAD will produce a new generation machinery & production equipment for manufacturing , including machining & assembling , large aerostructures achieving multi-functional production systems integrating the highest n° of processes in the same equipment reducing product development cost & time to market and with more efficient manufacturing by reducing assembly cost & time, improving machining cost & quality. Key technologies will develop producing innovations: novel architecture & robotic concepts for machining & assembling modules; flexible intelligent tooling & fixturing including alignment & positioning using novel thermography sensing; cutting process methodology with associated tools for machining of weak non-rigid thin-wall monolithic parts ; new automated assembly methodologies & processes; distributed control & systems integration.
