Objective
The spinning is still the obligatory way for producing knitted textiles. It represents 40% of the textile production cycle to market, 62.5% of energy consumption, 75% of infrastructure surfaces, 55% of investment and 30% of waste generation. Important stocks of yarns have to be managed during the production, making logistic complex and limiting flexibility.
The-project aims to develop an original compact eco-efficient production system able to produce directly from fibres, without conversion in yarns (no spinning) and only in one step (no yarn storage, no complex logistic), high quality knitted products. The new method will simplify extremely the tradional one and introduce a high flexibility and agility in the textile industry able to produce in medium and long term higher added value with significant cost and time to market reduction, adapted quickly to consumer needs and competitive to textile products from Asian countries.
