Energy when needed, modern eco-efficient production machine for brazing heat exchangers

Objective

ENEED-2001-Energy when NEEDed, modern eco-efficient production machine for brazing heat exchangers (Delphi, Alcan, CRF, Fin-Machine, SAET, Solvay, UTC, Carrier) For energy saving and environment reasons, innovation in heat exchanger brazing process is required. Today, a 50 m long braze line -electrostatic fluxer, thermal degreasing oven with fumes incinerator and braze furnace- is working 24 h a day and 340 days a year. Only 10% of the energy is used to braze parts. The idea is to save the maximum of energy (10 GWh/year and per machine producing 600000 parts/year) with a new heating system (induction, resistance & laser combination) used only when needed, a material with low melting point temperature (500°C i/o 600°C), a catalytic converter for fume's treatment, one 4 m long machine integrating heating and fume's treatment, giving full flexibility (one piece flow), improving job skills and work conditions.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
