Objective
The key objective is to generalise and extend all over Europe the in-situ recycling of bituminous paving mixes with cold processes. The project aims at the development and validation (via test trial) of processes and formulation methodologies allowing to re-use any reclaimed material to its highest technical potential. Key fundamental aspects of the project are the characterisation of reclaimed materials, the interactions between cold applied new binders and aged bitumen, the design of a new process based on the use of micronised emulsions and foamed bitumen, the determination of final mechanical performance and its impact on pavement design.
