Intelligent commercial refridgerator of the future

Objective

The target of the BrainFridge project is to design, develop, integrate, demonstrate and validate a novel product-service in the area of Intelligent Commercial Refrigerators or Freezers. The BrainFridge product-service will incorporate a number of functionalities that will enable optimised operation and added value services through its entire lifecycle. In summary the main BrainFridge product-service objectives are to introduce simple principles of supply Chain Management, by automating the ordering/re-ordering procedures and centralised stock management, to enable the automatic display of promotional messages of audiovisual and textual content on active displays mounted on the intelligent fridges, to embed in the intelligent fridge a fully functional mobile and local networking communications unit, and to introduce a number of energy saving innovations in the cooling cycle and the peripheral technologies.
