Thematic network on ornamental stones - osnet

Objective

This proposal aims at the establishment of a Thematic Network on Ornamental Stones (OSNET) to bring together all the organisations active in the Ornamental Stones Sector.

The planned activities include:
a)organisation of an annual Network Workshop and Sectorial meetings;
b)a market oriented Web site;
c) publication of special technical editions, bulletins, newsletters, proceedings;
d)organization of industry open days;
e)organization of a proposals forum.

The Network has been divided in 6 thematic sectors:
1) Quarrying;
2) Processing;
3) Stone characterisation;
4) Tools and equipment;
5) Safety and environment;
6) Technology transfer.

The consortium consists of 46 partners and 17 "other participants" covering the whole range of the sector activities. The Network objectives will be achieved through the completion of five Workpackages: Network Management and Coordination, Network Web-site, Network Activities, Strategy and Plans, Exploitation, and Dissemination.
