European construction research network

Objective

Most innovations in the construction sector are systemic and multi-technological, they are essentially derived from combining knowledge and are much more incremental than is the case in other industries. This situation requires special measures to contribute to the dissemination of up-to-date knowledge gained from recent EC and national RTD projects and current available best practice. As such, the proposed E-CORE network has in particular the objective of being a single entry point for stakeholders seeking information on the latest technological advances in construction research, to function as a reference group for developing future RTD strategies for the construction sector and to be a forum to exchange information and to find partners to undertake future collaborative RTD actions. E- CORE gathers in this context all relevant stakeholders, in particular the network is composed of 66 full members representing all involved parties and draws upon a corresponding membership of a further 210 stakeholder representatives. Deliverables of the network include, amongst others, the publication of strategic notes on future RTD needs, consensus reports on priority actions and compilation reports dealing with recent technological advances.
