In-built, closed tank cleaning system for the transport of difficult chemical products

Objective

A great number industrial significant substances exists (inks, paints, resins, latex, methanol, etc.), which by their very nature pose a whole series of problems when it comes to cleaning the tanks in which they have been carried. The inherent washing of such tanks is currently being carried out by cleaning companies, which pose a series of limitations, such as, the time wasted in travelling to the cleaning company, inadequate cleaning of the tanks due to the lack or suitable solvents, use of large amounts of water, worker exposure to solvent vapours and a potential polluting outcome. The proposed project will develop an in-built, closed system which currently does not exist in the market and which offers the advantages of being environmentally friendly and providing the transporter with an independent cleaning system that allows him to save considerable time, with important cost savings. Novel solvent formulations will be optimised for use and disposal. A special low cost solvent-recycling unit that operates under vacuum to lower the boiling temperature of the solvent will be developed for the selected solvents.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
