Design, prototyping and functional evaluation of a laser generator for the goldsmith and other sector

Objective

Problem: in most processes related to the production of goldsmith, at least one phase regards welding. Particularly, in the automatic production of gold chains, the welding of each single ring becomes one of the most difficult steps of the process itself. Nowadays, the welding of chains is performed by the use of traditional systems( furnaces) for 90% of the products. These existing technologies are very energy intensive and their use causes the production of harmful emissions (toxic vapours)that have to be purified before their inlet into the atmosphere: this fact implies plant management costs for the manufacturers and, in addition, long permanence of the operator in the machine shop is required The aim of the project is to design and develop an innovative laser generator

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
