Investigation for woven fabrics synthesis, weaving and treatment to optimize the resistance to weather conditions and solar radiation

Objective

Woven textile fabrics are used for tents and summer umbrellas for protection against the sun. It is well known the continuously increased problem of the ozone depletion and the high ultraviolet radiation (UVR), which is extremely harmful for the human health. This project will constitute towards the production of more safe and effective textile products to solar radiation and weather conditions. The wide production of these products will make European Textile and Clothing Companies more competitive and so they will increase their sales. Main goals of these projects are also the institution of a standard method for the creation of an indicator of sun protection and of a proposed Quality Label. So this project will support the sustainable growth of the Textile and Clothing Industry. Especially for the Trade Balance this effort must be continuous with Textile and Clothing products with sophisticated properties and new design and so it will be possible to minimize imports and to increase exports especially in the World Market, which always needs better, smarter and safer textiles.
