Objective
Waste gas streams from production processes are subject to certain legal provisions with regard to their emissions as laid down in the corresponding national and - in the future even more important - EU regulations. In Germany this is the German Emission and Emission Law (Bundesimmissionsschutzgesetz [BimSchG]). This concerns in particular production processes where emission volumes exceed a certain limit (< 1 000 Nm^3/h). For these small waste gas streams only a few applicable and economically affordable solutions exist. As they are plant manufacturers and engineering companies for waste gas cleaning systems, the proposers are more and more confronted with this problem and have therefore decided to take up this challenge by the development of a new innovative process for waste gas cleaning by means of catalytic oxidation (CATOX process).
