Objective
The main aim of the project is to optimise the cutting system of ornamental stone blocks coming from the quarry. Nowadays during this process the quality of waste generated is important, due to the big size of the cutting iron strap. The project also seeks to avoid the excessive idle times produced during the change and transportation of the cut blocks and the preparatory of the next one by a new development and design of the gun-saws. The present project is focused to solve the problems, both industrial and environmental aspects, reducing the cutting width (the losses of marble material would strongly decrease) achieving an important economic saving and also minimizing the wastes of material and improving the productivity of the cutting process.
