The objective of the project is the development of a paint application system for lifting platforms (PASLIP=Paint Application System for Lifting Platforms) for use in ambient outdoor and indoor conditions. By developing such a system, it will be possible to avoid the adverse effects associated with paint over spray and to improve the safety of the working environment with significant economic and environmental benefits. Beside the environmental benefits, such a system will raise productivity in outdoor paint application significantly. The PASLIP system will be controlled by software which analyses the structure to be painted, allowing the most effective painting path, control of the paint coverage etc. The data necessary can be obtained by means of an interface between existing CAD and CIM systems and the system's control unit.
