Treatment and recycling of photographic effluents

Objective

Project objective is development of a simple and efficient system for treatment of polluted washing water coming out photo film development and printing process. The system will be based on Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology, that is spreading over the field of water purification for its low costs, simplicity, efficiency, low environmental impact and durability. Actually washing water is inactivated by through an ozone cleaning system and then discharged to sewer,. this way both environmental and economical problems are caused, as water still containing chemicals is wasted to sewer. By using RO technology it could be possible to save more than 95% of washing water and to reduce the purifying system costs of about 30%. The project outputs will bring a series of advantages: reduced production costs resulting in an increased competitiveness of SMEs; low environmental impact due to the recycling of water; possibility of operating in continuous; easy and rapid purification process.
