Ecologically friendly and cost effective utilisation of polymer waste

Objective

The project aims to improve the technology of environmentally friendly and cost effective utilisation of polymer - polyethyleneterftalate (PET) waste. The method allows to produce composite polymer concrete from the unsorted PET waste which is further used for production of construction materials in composite concrete a melted, polymer is used as binding substance instead of cement. The method allows to produce materials with advanced properties. The main tasks of the project are - to elaborate the technology scaling the production from small amount/experimental to industrial scale and to work out polymer concrete products with optimised properties. The developed technology will be offered for application in waste processing plants. During the project a lot of RTD problems will be solved - the optimisation composition of ingredients, cleaning of emission gases, minimisation of energy consumption, automation of the manufacturing process, development of new products.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
