Objective
Current technologies for treatments on metal working surfaces of tools and machine parts typically involve problems at critical areas. For example, process efficiencies are low, end-product performance characteristics are far from optimal, costs for materials, machining and heat treatment are high, and not versatile for different kinds of alloys. As a result of this product prices are high, processes are inefficient, product quality levels have variations and product performance is not state-of-the-art leading to damages, losses and inefficiencies in end-use situations. This project is proposed to research and develop technologies and equipment based on pulse wise plasma layer modifying for metal working tools and machine parts. This system should fulfil the essential requirements for typical applications of these materials in a wide range of industries.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
