Alimentary machine safe welding by yag laser technology

Objective

The project novelty is in the application of laser welding to the production of machines for the alimentary sector and in the characterisation of weld toxicity and weld performance by testing and analysis. The application of laser welding technology to the production of alimentary machines is not a simple case of technology transfer, because the capability of laser welding requires further specification with respect to the definition of optimal process parameters (welding speed, laser power, protective environment) for different materials and applications. In fact the deformations occurring on the welding often induce local damage and subsequent loss of material and, as a consequence, toxicity. The present proposal constitutes a good step towards the adequacy of the SMEs production to the European normative especially from an environmental point of view (Council Regulation (EEC) No 315/93 of 8 February 1993).

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
