Rail sector framework and tools for standardising and improving usability of environmental performance indicators and data formats

Objective

Objectives are to provide, based on the results of the EU project RAVEL :
1 ) a. framework with a juridical body for managing standardisation of Environmental Performance Indicators EPI and data formats within the railway industry;
2) a tool for improving usability of EPI and data formats. Objectives are achieved by:
- workshop to start the network activities and to discuss software tool, EPIs and data formats ;
- business plan for the juridical body for managing standardisation, organisation of network events, agreeing EPIs, material lists and data formats ;
- defining certification requirements;
- producing software tool ;
- compiling basic environmental data for all interested organisations These actions will promote and facilitate the diffusion and broad use of mentioned Eu funded project and other projects within the area of Environmental Management.
