Objective
The objective of this accompanying measure action is to take the opportunity of the III European Congress in Computational Method in Engineering and Applied Sciences to be held on Barcelona on 11-14 September 2000 (ECCOMAS 2000) to promote and increase awareness in the outputs and on-going developments carried out in RTD projects within the IV and V Framework Programmes in the field of computational engineering and science. New joint activities between university and industry groups in this field will be also promoted. More specifically the action intends to make use of the ECCOMAS Congress and Exhibition to foster the exchange of information on RTD outputs and development from ongoing and finished RTD projects between the research community and industrial users interested in the application of computational methods for solving practical problems in science and engineering. Particular effort will be put in the interchange of experiences between academic and industry through the ECCOMAS Exhibition and Congress. It is expected that this event can be the starting point for many joint RTD activities and ventures between university and research groups and industries, particularly SME companies, interested in the use and development of computer based simulation.
