Smart hybrid integrated navigation equipment (SHINE)

Objective

Overall objective of SHINE programme is to improve air transport efficiency and quality by offering at low cost to maximum of aircraft new navigation and attitude sensors enabling to fly and land in a more dense European airspace with same or better safety .To this aim a prototype of an airborne equipment based on low cost inertial sensors emerging technology and using advanced processing techniques (inertial-GNSS sensors data fusion, GNSS attitude determination, self redundant inertial sensors, new techniques for GNSS processing in interface environment ) will be designed, manufactured and flight tested . A cost size and weight reduction factor of 2 is estimated for short term applications (2002) regional aircraft, light business Jets and heavy helicopters). Higher gain is identified for mid/month term (2006/2008) applications on commercial aircraft.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
