Human centred operations in aircraft dispatch and maintenance (ADAMS 2)

Objective

ADAMS 2 addresses area 4.4.2 (Operational Maintenance) in key action 2.4 in the CSG Programme. It will analyse the human role in reliability and effectiveness in the systems and processes of aircraft maintenance - at the level of the task, individual and group, events and incidents, and the organisation. This will support the development and evaluation of tools and methodologies to improve practice in aircraft design, maintenance quality management, and organisational learning following incidents and events. The requirements for organisational change to ensure successful implementation and the costs and benefits of these interventions will be examined. Better aircraft design methodologies and standards, better auditing and assessment of maintenance operations, and enhanced capacity to learn from incidents and events will contribute to enhanced reliability and cost-effectiveness of aircraft maintenance.
