Objective
IMCAD "Improving the Cockpit Application Development Process" aims to reduce significantly development cost and time-to-market of cockpit applications. This can be achieved by a reduction of redundant activities in the process, by introduction of "early validation" functions for graphics performance and for human factor aspects, by applying reusable display components, and by adding support for interactive cockpit applications in the development tools. As a result less effort needs to be spent in specification, coding and validation. The process will also be more flexible, so it is easier to meet customer demands. IMCAD will deliver the methodological guidelines for the improved process. IMCAD will also improve and integrate graphical and functional specification tools, and extend them with the "early validation" functions. IMCAD will validate methodology and tools in a case study where a realistic cockpit application will be developed.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
