Objective
The VERDICT proposal is aimed at specifying, testing, developing and validating new modeling tools for Non Destructive Testing of aircraft engine parts. The main results are user friendly interfaced modeling tools coupled with CAD commonly used by aerospace engine manufacturers, and fitted with designer and inspector needs. With these tools, time to market and cost of aircraft engines should be reduced by a.voiding design/manufacturing/inspection iterations during engine development, and a balance between part weight, bursting risk and inspection cost should be optimized for critical parts.
