Objective
The aim of the project is the development of a new tank system for ultra-light airplanes acquiring a new, since now un-reached level of safety, outperforming existing systems both in safety increase as in the number of additional values created. The out of glass fiber reinforced plastic metal material, FRP, made tank body, sealed with a special varnish, is filled with a metallic mesh to achieve the following performances:- explosion and fire hazard control- fuel liquid movement stabilization- increased safety in case of forced landings- improved chemical and biological stability of the fuel liquids- reduction of VOC-HC emissions (environmental benefit) This is aimed to match the continuously increasing demands of the aircraft industry to protect life and goods.
