Objective
The Institute of Electron Technology (IET) is the research centre established in 1966. It is a major Polish electronics research centre with a primary focus on semiconductor technology. It has established a national reputation for leading- edge accomplishments in optoelectronics and microelectronics. Most of the technologies and devices developed in the Institute were successfully commercialised. Departments of Low Dimensional Structures together with Department of Semiconductor Processing and Department of Semiconductor Materials and Structures Research combine necessary resources for successful development of photonic devices and technologies. They employ highly qualified staff and PhD students, and have at their disposal state-of-the-art equipment, which allows for carrying out competitive research in the field. The Department of photodetectors adds to the strength of basic research the expertise in commercialising devices.
