New generation of multi-functional, cost-effective and quick set-up time system for processing and forming ceramic part dedicated to single or small batch production for medical applications

Objective

Within the context of single and small production, the medical and also aeronautical or automotive industry, need new production approaches and means for more efficient, cost-effective, multi-functional production systems. New highly reliable modular concepts has to be developed with quick set-up time, leading to better address the increasingly stringent need for customization of consumers' needs. Operation of replacement of bone tissue in the case of cancer or other damage, suffers from lack of suitable long-term biocompatible implants. Today the missing bone part is replaced by a grafted shaped healthy bone piece or by an implant made manually out of biocompatible material. These techniques are not satisfying because of infection and unesthetical result. There is an increasing demand from surgeons for a business service, distributing customized biocompatible ceramic implants fulfilling delivery time, cost and biocompatibility requirements.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
