Objective 1. To develop a microchannel compact reactor system suitable for use in three phase catalytic air oxidation reactions. The geometry will be optimized to provide precise control of the oxygen concentration along the reaction pathway whilst providing enhanced gas-liquid-solid mixing and improved heat transfer.2. To develop the spherical mesoporous carbon catalyst support system required by the microchannel geometry for the two classes of oxidation reactions with the precisely tailored micro-rneso pore structure required for optimum catalyst performance.3.To develop the bimetallic (eg. Pt-Bi) catalyst systems that in conjunction with the optimized support and reactor will give the required performance in fine chemical and pharmaceutical manufacture Fields of science natural scienceschemical scienceselectrochemistryelectrolysisnatural scienceschemical sciencescatalysisnatural sciencesmathematicspure mathematicsgeometry Programme(s) FP5-GROWTH - Programme for research technological development and demonstration on "Competitive and sustainable growth 1998-2002" Topic(s) 1.1.3.-5. - RTD Activities of a Generic Nature : materials and their technologies for production and transformation and new and improved materials and production technologies in the steel field Call for proposal Data not available Funding Scheme CSC - Cost-sharing contracts Coordinator University of Bath Address Claverton down BA2 7AY Bath GB See on map Links Website Opens in new window EU contribution € 0,00 Participants (3) Sort alphabetically Sort by EU Contribution Expand all Collapse all CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE France EU contribution € 0,00 Address Avenue albert einstein 2 69626 Villeurbanne See on map DELFT UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY Netherlands EU contribution € 0,00 Address Julianalaan 136 2628 BL Delft See on map MAST CARBON LTD GB EU contribution € 0,00 Address Henly park GU3 2AF Guilford surrey See on map
