Objective
The demand on coloured layers in the industry is that they be resistant to weathering and provide anti-wear properties with a sufficient corrosion protection. However for colouring procedures with such requirements, only a very limited palette of colours are available now such as gold or silver which do not satisfied industries needs in sector like home-appliance or automotive. The aim of the project is to develop new reliable colours by PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) such as green, blue and red. The colour of the coating will result from the combination between the metal vaporised and the gaseous atmosphere. In order to enlarge the range of available colours and hues, this research project will consist in the definition of the parameters combination that enables to obtain new colours. Each new coating achieved will be tested in order to validate its properties in terms of :
-colour,
-anti-wear,
-corrosion protection,
-reproducibility. The new coatings will provide a combination of the needed properties by the industry, which cannot be reached by the already existing treatments.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
