Objective
The goal of the research is to develop an innovative process to mould polyurethane empty forms (as employed in the mannequin industry), using microwaves irradiation as catalyst. This approach, speeding up the polymerisation reaction, allows an excellent final product, along with lower unit costs and an eco-efficient harm-free environment at the shopfloor. The new process will permit the manufacture of polyurethane empty forms and the substitution of the glass fiber, a non recyclable material.
