Objective
Recently, efforts of many researchers have been focused on the development of advanced materials with superior characteristics with regards to reliability, endurance and resistance to environmental impacts. Unfortunately, the majority of developed show only short-term advantages while in a long run require often replacements that lead to a great consumption of hazardous paints and volatile solvents. The proposed in this Project work is concentrated on the development of totally innovative technology that will lead to the synthesis of durable and much more reliable and wear resistant coatings. The idea is based an the fabrication of new immobilized functional coatings with an additional polymer inner nano-layer that will result in a forced diffusion of a block-polymer from the intermediate layer to the damaged area. This will constitute the so-called "self-healing" effect due to low surface energy component, mechanical stresses and anchoring release.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
