Improved behaviour laws including ductility criteria for forming processes

Objective

The research is proposed by Ledepp. 200-people work in the Ledepp (R&D laboratory of the Steelmaker Usinor Group). Four main R&D objectives which provide a strategic fit with Usinor's corporate objectives: Develop new products and services meeting our customer's needs; identify new applications for our steels; Offer customers comprehensive steel solutions (help in choosing and using products, ensuring safe use, etc.); Enhance industrial performance (improve current production processes, develop new processes, improve product quality, etc.). Candidates from Eastern European Countries would be highly appreciated. You will be associated with the existing project. In the simulation's domain of forming processes, we propose to improve the behavior laws of steel sheet through the implementation in the FEA codes of new laws with ductility criteria followed by numerical and experimental validation in deep drawing and rheological tests. Our proposal aims at obtaining a better FE simulation of the steel sheet forming processes, through three main steps:
1 - Development of an effective implementation of rich, up-to-date material models, together with the required parameter identification technique;
2- Intensive numerical and experimental investigation of a selected range of materials and test procedures (especially two strain-path mechanical tests);
3-Improvement of the model features which are poorly validated. Thus, the work for fellows about this project includes several tasks: numerical implementation, parameters' identification, FE simulations for validation with compare experimental measures. The knowledge or capabilities requested for the work are : FEA Code as Abaqus or Pamstamp; Fortran language; general knowledge in mechanic continuum medium.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
