Research and experimental development of an automated glow discharge mass spectrometer for the rapid analysis of conductors, semiconductors and insulators (AUTOMATED GDMS)

Objective

The Fifth Framework Programme focuses on Community Activities in the field of research, technological development and demonstration. The structure of the programme "competitive and sustainable growth" includes RDT on generic technologies that support innovation in measurements and testing. This proposal outlines the possible advancement of Glow Discharge Mass Spectrometry through a unique transnational collaboration of stakeholders from industry and the research community to validate innovative developments to make GMDS a choice method for problem solving in materials in industry. It is our contention that this proposal describes the benefits of the RTD project, both the exploitation prospects for the stakeholders and the socio-economic benefits that will result from those exploitations, whilst addressing the socio-economic objectives of the measurements and testing programme and research objectives for Instrumentation.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
