Objective
The project ITEM proposed in the 4th Framework Programme was mainly oriented to standardization whereas now the project treats the problem more completely, reoriented to very promising new detection methods, like the thermo graphic infra-red, the evolution of near field sensors, etc. Electronic and interconnection systems are increasingly involved in industrial products. The interconnection systems, consisting of cables and connectors, are very sensitive to conducted and radiated electromagnetic disturbances. To obtain a reliable protection, the shield efficiency has to be guaranteed through the use of a measurement device not actually available at the industrial level. The project ITEM aims at developing a standardized hybrid system, methodology and technical specifications to carry out an industrial tool to characterize the protection system performance and to localize potential defects on the spot.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
