Routine performance control of radiological installations

Objective

The first X-ray equipment, used for digital medical radiography are in the stage of being installed at the first hospitals in Europe. A major problem is that there are at present no generally accepted measurement techniques available for measurement of significant image quality parameters describing the performance of these new devices. The objective of this proposal is to design and produce a new instrument in order to provide new means for the characterization of the new flat panel X-ray detectors. This instrument will be composed of conventional and dedicated patterns, and of multiple semiconductor sensors such as Si, MOSFET or CdTe. These different elements are distributed over a wide phantom plane, that will cover the entire area defined by a digital X-ray detector and this phantom will be easily usable at customer's site during routine qualification.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
