Low dose x-ray diagnostic imaging: a new modality for planar and three dimensional applications in rheumatology, orthopaedics and chest radiography (EOS)

Objective

EOS targets the assembly and clinical test of a new instrument for low dose diagnosis radiology. The instrument innovation lies in a capability of X-ray imaging with doses 10 to 100 lower than existing techniques, and of rendering a radiological image in three dimensions without using a costly and irradiating CT scanner examination. The instrument will be clinically tested in three hospitals for three radio logic imaging modalities of particular importance: scoliosis, chest imaging and soft tissue diagnosis. The project relies on a number of breakthrough innovations in detection and algorithmic which have been quantitatively demonstrated by the partners of the consortium on test beds, and will allow the realization of a dedicated prototype fully adapted to a hospital environment and its validation on a recruitment primarily of children, but also of adult patients.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
