Objective
The project will incorporate the technology developed for radio frequency identification (RFID) with inductive telemetry and will develop a new class of wireless sensors that will be utilized in industry to perform continuous monitoring. This will allow a whole range of industrial sectors to monitor machines and parts, e.g. tires, wheels, shafts, that at present are not controlled due to lack of suitable or affordable technology. The project will represent an enormous benefit in terms of cost-reduction and improved technology and management of resources for a wide range of industries. The markets generated by this project will be of tens of millions of Euro per annum. This will in turn create job opportunities across the EU.
